Foto Giovanni Bergamo Decarli - Piantina abbastanza comune prostrata e robusta con fusti resistenti presente in cespi sub emersi su alcuni massi di questo ruscello risorgivo, foglie con apice acuto e nervatura notevole alcune delle quali con margine denticolato – Habitat a parte, il suo portamento e aspetto esteriore, potrebbe ricordare in particolare Eurhynchium angustirete e alcune altre simili.

An acetone extract from the moss Rhynchostegium riparioides was tested against 11 bacterial strains, some of which are pathogenic. The extract was active on some Gram-negative strains.
